This week we have to swap furniture sets between the biggest kid’s room and the guest room, and we need to go to Costco to purchase (and then back home to prep) for our annual Friendsgiving celebration on Friday. I’ll also be doing lots of knitting, TV watching, and cuddling.

We’re still reeling over here, avoiding the news, filling up on memes and nonsense. I got a new phone late last week, so that means I can re-download all my phone games. I’ll have to check those to see if my stats carried over.

We have company staying Sunday through Saturday, so that should be nice.

This weekend is Pancake Sex Book Club so I’m trying to finish up “Lagoon.” We are also watching some “Gilmore Girls” at home to prepare for the upcoming sequel! I have a large cross stitch project in the works, and I officially gave up NaNoWriMo thanks to a nasty depressive swing. I did manage 20K words though, so woo! All the rest of my free time is devoted to my one true love, “Skyrim.”

I just made it through my library’s 80-person wait list for “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” so I read the whole thing in an hour. I was completely underwhelmed by the plot—in addition to being put off by the queerbaiting and casual ableism. I’m hoping the first volume of “Lumberjanes” by Noelle Stevenson, Grace Ellis, Brooke Allen, Maarta Laiho and Aubrey Aiese will be a good palette cleanser. From what I’ve heard, it will be.

I read “Ghosts” by Raina Telgemeier in one sitting today while on the train into work, and I had to keep myself from openly sobbing. It’s a touching, middle-grade graphic novel about a Mexican-American family who just moved to a spooky, foggy town in Northern California. It deals with Día de los Muertos beautifully, and it made me nostalgic for my Mexican culture.

This weekend, my partner and I will be continuing our shared “Mass Effect” playthrough with our Vanguard Justice Shepard. We don’t always see eye to eye when it comes to Paragon vs. Renegade choices, but we do agree on what we’ll do about Kaidan on Virmire. *evil laugh*

I’ll be listening to “The Tangled Skein” audiobook: a Sherlock Holmes/Van Helsing mashup which I suspect is not about yarn (although one can hope). I ordered a bunch of yarn, and I’m going to try and finish up a couple of small projects so I can start on the fun stuff when it gets here. I’m also battling whether or not to get “Skyrim” on Steam, but will likely wait for my first paycheck at my new job to splurge on that. I’ll definitely be playing some “Ibb and Obb” on PS Now with my boyfriend; it’s a challenging but super-fun two-player game.

This week I’m all tied up with “The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet” audiobook. I can officially confirm space sex. Not literal space sex but sex in a science fiction book. Woo! I also want this big bird alien to be my friend. Whoever compared this book to the “Mass Effect” universe was totally right. Not just in world building but relationship building between characters.
